Ribbon-tastic

Would you believe I made this card for a blog candy challenge (to include ribbon) and then realised I was one day late! Oh well! I wove two different types of ribbon together around a square piece of card. I attached a Prima flower with a purple brad and stamped the sentiment using a Elzybells stamp.

Fireman Birthday

This is a card I made for another of my daughters friends. I'm not sure who the paper is by but I loved the old fashioned look of it. I have added a sentiment printed on my PC, mounted on 3D foam pads over a length of Anita's ribbon. The 4 is cut on my Cuttlebug - mounted on 3D foam pads.

Cards for Jo - SBS13 Card Swop

This is the card I did for the SBS13 card swop. It has taken me ages to do it - sorry Jo, hope you liked it. The image is Stamping Bella, I have used a scalloped Nestie to stamp her on. The paper is Papermania Retro Florals. The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp, stamped on Nesties. I added a little pink Prima flower and a gem.
Below is an extra card I made for Jo for her to use, rather than including any stamped images.
Jo sent me a gorgeous card for this swop! The imade and setiment are from Elzybells, the image is coloured using Whispers makers. I have stamped put some extra butterflies and attached them using 3D foam pads and then dotted a little swirl using my Sakura glitter pen. I have used an orange organza ribbon below the image to add a little sparkle.

My Anniversary

My hubbie and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary last week and this is the card I made for him. A really simple card, I used some lovely printed card as a base. I cut the heart out from the card and re-attached it using 3D foam pads. I put an Anita's pink ribbon on the top of the card and attached 3 brads. The sentiment is printed on my PC. I rounded the corners with my Woodware punch and attached it with 3D foam pads.

This is the card I made for my daughters to give to us. I layered green and white card for the base. I used my Nesties to cut a base for the image, which is a Penny Black stickeroo. The sentiment is printed on my PC and layered on a piece of green Anita's sticky ribbon. I have rounded the edges with my Woodware punch.

Bride & Groom

Another commission card! I struggled a bit with this until I tried the red which looked great. The base is red Papermania card with a strip of white organza ribbon. The image is by Elzybells - I love their stamps!! I have coloured them in with pencils and Whispers brush makers. I have added a little bit of glitter using my Sakura pen. I printed the sentiment on my PC and rounded one edge with my Woodware corner rounder.

Spotty Cupcake

This is a another commission card. I bought some lovely new Papermania papers - Sweet Nothings - I have used these on the base of the card and also to paper piece the cupcake paper. The image is stamped using Hero Arts Cupcakes. I have cut out the cherry and coloured it with my Glaze pens, I then attached with 3D foam pads. This is layered using green Brazzil Bling. The sentiment is a Craftworks Card mini message.

The stamps are Hero Arts Cupcakes. The cupcakes are coloured using pencils and Glaze pens. I used Stickles on the sprinkles to make them glitter. The scalloped edge is made using Nesties.

Pink Feet

I am on our local NCT branch committee and one of the committee members has just had a little girl. So, I made her a pink and white card. The base card is pink Papermania card and white Brazzil Basics card. I used Nesties for the image and embossed two little feet using my Cuttlebug. I rubbed some pink chalk over the feet to highlight them. The sentiment is by Stamping Bella and the ribbon by Joy. The picture's not great - it is really difficult to get the pale pinks.

My Fathers Day Card

I wanted to stay away from the usual blues for men's cards - so went with greens and browns. I used a green coloured card, base paper is Papermania Retro Florals. The band is green and brown layered card. I wanted some large letters but didn't have any stamps large enough. So printed out the letters on my PCon green card and cut each letter out. I added 3 green brads to each card and attached them using 3D foam pads. My dad loved it!

An Anniversary Card

The colours on this card are a bit of an experiment. I have used a blue Papermania paper with dark pink swirls, so I decided to use a contrasting colour - pink. The card is pink Brazzil Bling. The Papermania paper is torn using a really great tool from Creative Moments - it's a metal ruler like tool with two different tear patterns on either side. The image is Penny Black, coloured using pencils and cut out using my Nesties. I have added 3 heart shaped brads and the sentiment was printed on the PC, corners rounded using a Woodware punch.

Roar Roar Dinosaur

A card I made for my friends son's 3rd birthday. It is made mainly with a great new Basic Grey range called Archaic - I saw this on the DoCrafts website. The base paper is "Prime" and I added a bit of "Obsolescent" on the bottom - cut along the pattern to make a lovely ridge. The dinosaur is a chipboard shape that has a sticky backing - perfect!! The lettering is from the same range - alphabet stickers. The 3 is cut using my Cuttlebug from "Rusty". I just love this card!!!!

Pink and Pretty

This is my entry for Jo's Blog Candy. I have used my new Hero Arts cupcake stamps. The base card is Brazzil Basics pink and white card, cropped with my Woodware corner cutter. The image is stamped on a Nestabilities rectangle layered with the matching scallops. I coloured it with Glaze pens to give it some shine and used holographic Stickles for the sprinkles. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set - this is layered over a large pink ribbon.

This is my second scrap-booking page. It is of my eldest daughter, Paige, just after her 1st birthday. I just love the photos and had fun putting the layout together. I have stamped Paige's name on to a piece of pearlescent paper, using a See D's alphabet in orange ink embossed with Heat It Up powder.

I have used flowers of contrasting colours rather than coordinating. The folders look a little flat in the pictures but are better in the flesh.

My Manic Life

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Life has been so hectic over the last few weeks. I am on the committee for our local NCT (National Childbirth Trust) and on Saturday we had one of our bi-annual Nearly New Sales. This entailed - last weekend getting all our baby stuff together to sell, cleaning it and tagging it. This weekend - setting the venue up on Friday night, attending the sale on Saturday from 8am - 2pm (I run the till room) and over the next week or so I will be collating all the data from the tills and doing sellers lists. These list all the items each seller has sold and how much we need to pay them (less commission for the NCT, of course!). Also, I managed to fit in two kids parties and lots of playing in the snow on Sunday when we woke up to a winter wonderland! So, can justifiably say I am exhausted!! Well, it will be back to work tomorrow for a rest!

This is the park around the corner from where we live.

The girls building a snowman (with a little help from me!)

Finally, me looking like a Michelin Man with about 5 layers on!

Purple Wednesday

Well I got a chance to do some crafting tonight! Seems like weeks since I had time to do anything creative! I decided to make a couple of purple themed cards. I also used some of my new mini messages from Craftwork Cards - they are great!

I made this card for a one of my oldest and dearest friends. She is waiting for some good news and I wanted to send her something to let her know my thoughts are with her. The base papers are from Papermania purple designer pack layered with Papermania card in dark purple and lilac. I added a purple prima flower secured with a Papermania flower brad. I added 4 purple gems in the each corner and a Craftwork Cards mini message.

For this card, I wanted to try out paper piecing - so Cakeabella's apron is done in this way. I also did the cake in purple card and added a bit of sparkle with my Sakura pen. I coloured the rest of her with coloured pencils. The base is purple Brazzil Basics and daisy paper by Scissor Sisters. I added a purple prima flower with a button in the middle. Lastly a cute flutter message by sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Jo's Tilda

I got this very cute image from Jo (Me and My Things) and some lovely pearlescent cards from Craftwork Cards and wanted to add a bit more sparkle. So Tilda got sparkly wings using a my new Sakura pen, the rest of her is done using coloured pencils. The base paper is from the Papermania Flowers pack. I have used a square of brown card punched with an X-cut hearts punch and a strip for my sentiment, rounded with a Woodware punch. The sentiment is a gold Anita's peel off. Finished off with a white organza ribbon.

Help Required Please

Does anyone have a good method for sealing the ends of ribbon after you have cut it to stop it fraying? Seems the bane of my life - I am always trimming and trimming!
